Balıkesir region due to its geological setting is an important metallogenic provence for base and precious metals.  The study area is located 3 km east of the Sebepli village of Gönen, Balıkesir in western Turkey. Upper-middle Miocene volcanic-tuff and Jurassic limestone are exposed in the study area.Precious elements mineralization, in the form of disseminated, scattered, stockwork, filled with and fracture-faults in the quarz veins cut of altered volcanic rocks. The quartz veins has different some epithermal structures. Base metal mineralization are in altered volcanic rocks and the contact with volcanic rocks and limestone. Ore minerals are chalcopyrite, pyrite, galenite, arsenopyrite etc.As a result of the geochemical studies, the fault systems within Miocene andesitic rock is the main structural controls of the alteration and mineralization.Using the assay results of the stream sediment and rock samples, anomaly areas for base and precious metals were determined. As a result of geochemistry, maximum 2.298 ppm Au, >100 ppm Ag, 2 % Cu values were obtained from 175 samples. As a geochemistry of host rock and mineralogical and fluid inclusion features of quartz veins, it is proposed that Sebepli Au-Ag-Pb-Zn-Cu mineralization are the fault controlled low sulfidation epithermal system and skarn type .
